Joined the Army in Sep 1982. First duty station was Ft. Bragg, NC with the 3rd BN, 325th ABN Inf Regt (AIR), 82 ABN Div. Earned a CIB on the Island of Grenada in 1983. In 1987 retrained to be a 96H Aerial Intelligence Specialist flying in the OV-1D Mohawk. Spent a tour in Germany (1987-1991) with the 1st MI BN (AE), flying East German border missions. Then got stationed at Ft. Huachuca, AZ as a 96H Instructor (1991-1995). Training both officers and enlisted in the operations of the OV-1D. Selected to be a part of the E-8C Joint STARS program (1995- 2002) for the initial stand up of the 93rd Air Control Wing at Robins AFB, GA. Deployed multiple times with the wing to Germany and Saudi Arabia in support of operations in Bosnia/Herzegovina, Kosovo, and Iraq. Retired from the Army in 2002 and went to work for Northrop Grumman on the Joint STARS Training program. Deployed as a contractor in support of Afghanistan and Iraq several times. Retired from Northrop Grumman in 2022. Joined the Veterans of Foreign Wars with Post 658 in Macon, GA in 2017.
